Inclusive Futures has won a global award for its work on collaborating with organisations of people with disabilities. Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is part of the Inclusive Futures initiative, led by Sightsavers and funded by UK Aid, which is working to ensure no one is left behind.

In 2023, HI published a report highlighting the impact of climate change on people with disabilities in Nepal, one of the countries most exposed to the consequences of this phenomenon.

HI teams arrived in the worst-affected areas to assess needs and support local health services following the earthquake in Nepal on November 3rd.

21-year-old Kabita lives in Banke, a district in Western Nepal. When she was a student, she had a road accident that resulted in a physical disability. Today, Kabita is a successful rickshaw driver.

Sundari has an intellectual disability. With the support of Humanity & Inclusion in Nepal, she enrolled in a class adapted to her disability. She enjoys school.

Siman, 18, has cerebral palsy, which affects his movement and body posture. Thanks to his rehabilitation sessions, he can now stand up and walk better. He is back to school.

Meet Rabina from Nepal. Rabina is a determined young woman who, with support from HI and the ENGAGE Project, now lives a more independent and dignified life.

As a young girl, Soni was forced to drop out of education as there was no support in her school for children with hearing impairments. But, today she is back in school and progressing fast. HI and its partners in Nepal  have helped 1,500 adolescent girls with disabilities to go back to school since 2017.
